Chemo Part 1 Last Email

So….IT’S OVER!

I just got back from meeting with my Dr. and I got a CANCER FREE bill of health! What a great way to kick of 2006. I now go into monitoring mode and will see the Dr. for scans every 3 months for the next 2 years.

I can’t tell you how excited and blessed I feel to be moving forward from this experience. I want you each to know how much I appreciated your support and concern. I feel so blessed to have had so many people behind me and I know that without you this would have been such a different experience. I am moving forward with such a different view of my life and my place in the world. Although, I don’t know that I would have chosen this path for myself, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I have learned so much about myself and I know that this awareness is such a blessing that will change my life forever.

As I move past this trial I leave many close friends who will still be fighting this disease. One in particular has forever changed who I am and I know that I would not have been able to move through this without him. My friend Bill Langford will still be fighting his cancer with a smile and a laugh. Please add him to your prayer list. He is currently a part of a study at MD Anderson and is awaiting word on whether or not he will be receiving experimental radiation. We want him on that list!

Thanks again to each of you for everything, you will never know how much it has meant to me.

Chemo Part 1 Email: 4 down 8 to go

Chemo #4 went a little different than the others, I was pretty sick while getting the chemo but I made it through. Ran some fevers last night but, I am up and around today.
I will have another CT and PET scan next Tuesday to check the effect the chemo has had on the tumors so far. I have no doubt that the chemo is doing its job and we will get good news next week.

I really do appreciate all your emails, cards and calls. The support is unbelievable and it makes everything a little easier knowing you’ve got great people on your side.

XOXO –
Rebecca
